IPR WORKSHOP HELD BY TAIWAN, US AND JAPAN

The Global Cooperation and Training Framework virtual workshop was held on June 17 through 18 in Taipei. Held jointly by Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), Taiwan High Prosecutors Office (THPO), American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) and the Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association (JTEA), the workshop discussed IPR protection strategies on cross-border trade, trade-secret misappropriation, and online economic espionage. More than 100 experts and government officials from 20 countries took part in the virtual workshop to share their experiences in combating IP theft, infringement and fraud.

During opening remarks, AIT Director Brent Christensen stated, “Promotion of the Four I’s [innovation, IPR protection, interaction and investment] will make each of our economies stronger as we develop the global economy for the modern era.”
